Sunstone Organics is one of the most popular headshop brands on the market. And as we all know, kratom powders that distribute to vape shops might not always be the best you’ll try. But there are always a few exceptions. So is Sunstone Organics one of them?
Based in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, Sunstone Organics is a brand that you’re likely to find through any local vape shop, gasoline station, or convenience store. And while the brand claims that they sell the best kratom curated by kratom enthusiasts, there are quite a lot of reviews out there that might contend with those claims.
On their website, the brand doesn’t really accommodate feedback. That means you can’t leave a review even after you’ve made a purchase. On the upside, a quick Google search should help you find a bunch of reviews about Sunstone Organics, many of which are published on forums like Reddit.
In general, the collective notion about Sunstone is that they’re your average everyday head shop brand, which means they don’t really offer stellar kratom that you won’t forget. In fact, there are even quite a few reviews out there that have a bunch of bad stuff to say about the brand’s products, including how some powders have been known to cause an upset stomach.
Sunstone Organics keeps things simple with a basic line up of bulk kratom or capsules, sample packs, and retail packs. Available powder strains include Green Vein, Maeng Da, Red Vein, Red Maeng Da, White Vein, and White Maeng Da. Objectively, their selection isn’t exactly what you would call extensive, and neither is there anything particularly special about the choices they offer.
Bulk sizes include 1lb and 1kg, while their retail packs 25g, 50g, or 100g. Their capsules are also sold in bulk packs of 1lb or 1kg, and retail packs of 20 caps, 60 caps, or 100 caps. Samplers include their four premium kratom strains in packs of 10g each, and are available as either powders or capsules.
Now here’s where things get hairy. The problem with Sunstone Organics is that they follow the footsteps of many other headshop brands with their insanely steep prices. Each pound of kratom powder sells for $130 while their kilogram bag sells for $230 — up to 200% the price of many other kratom vendors that sell the same size.
If you’re looking to cop retail, Sunstone sells their smaller pack sizes for the following prices:
Their sampler pack sells for as much as $31.99 for capsules and $23.99 for powders, which is definitely an industry high when you compare them to many other kratom vendors on the market.
With their outlandish prices, it comes as no surprise that there are quite a few buyers out there who might want to snatch a deal instead of paying full price for their products. And in a way, Sunstone Organics helps to that end. Aside from sending out the occasional promotional offer or discount code to people signed up to their newsletter, the brand also has a rewards program for their loyal customers.
Another way to save up would be to buy as much as you need in one go. Spending upwards of a hundred bucks on their products earns you automatic free shipping that’s computed at check out. Then again, if you’re buying from a local headshop, then you might have to wait for your shop of choice to provide their own discount offer independent of the Sunstone Organics brand.
The general notion on Sunstone Organics is pretty lukewarm. Unlike other vendors that tend to have diehard fanatics, Sunstone’s market is pretty much made up of buyers who didn’t have too much of a choice and really just needed a dose of kratom to get through the day. That said, if you’re in a pinch and there aren’t any other kratom brands in sight, then Sunstone might make a reasonable alternative for the time being.
Another weakness of the Sunstone Organics brand is that they aren’t too enthusiastic about replying to consumer concerns. While they do have a hotline, a contact form, and a physical address listed on their site, the brand’s customer support team isn’t what you would call professional. So manage your expectations when you reach out and try not to anticipate too fast (or to informative) of a response.
Well, they’re a headshop brand — what more is there to say? The Sunstone Organics brand is your prototypical vape shop name, and you can expect as much from them. They’re not great with customer support and their prices are through the roof. But if you don’t have any other choice and Sunstone Organics is the only stuff within reach, then their kratom products might be just enough to help you get by. Then again, if you have that much of a budget and you have the option to choose, you might be better off looking to other kratom vendors that can match their prices with kratom powder potency.
