Kratom grows native to Southeast Asian countries. But because places like Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia have outright banned the growth and export of kratom, Indonesia has found itself in the unique position of being the top exporter of kratom worldwide. Of course, legislature is constantly changing, and there are moves to ban kratom in Indonesia as well. But while the commodity is still legal, there are lots of Indonesian companies taking advantage.
One such brand is ZONA. Based in Indonesia, this kratom vendor offers a selection of kratom products for US-based buyers. And while they might not be quite as trendy as other kratom brands, the fact that they operate straight out of the country where kratom comes from has earned them quite the reputation.
The fact that ZONA Kratom is based in Indonesia makes it slightly more trustworthy than shady, small time vendors that operate within the United States. But that doesn’t mean that ZONA is completely free of any sort of bad rap. The brand has gotten a few bad reviews here and there, mainly because of the lack of information on the brand altogether.
With no way to tell who operates the company, and where exactly they’re located, dealing with ZONA Kratom can feel like a leap of faith at times, especially if you’re new to the kratom scene.
ZONA Kratom offers a modest selection of products with nine kinds of powder which are all available as capsules as well. Their line-up includes Green Hulu, Green Bali, Red Borneo, Gold Maeng Da, Red Bali, Red Maeng Da, White Maeng Da, and Green Maeng Da. They also offer a powder named Plantation Kratom, but they don’t really offer an explanation as to what it is.
And unlike other brands that offer their powders in varying bag sizes, ZONA Kratom only has one kilogram bags for all of their powders, so you’re going to have to buy the bulk package regardless of your need since that’s all they have to offer.
Their capsules on the other hand can be purchased as either a 500g pack or a one kilogram bag, which again limits the options for buyers who only need a minimal amount of product, or for those who want to try the strains before they invest in a substantial amount.
Unlike other Indonesia-based kratom vendors that sell their products for significantly lower costs because of their cheaper operating expense, ZONA Kratom cranks up their prices to compete with US-based sellers. That means that their one kilo bags are sold at the eye-popping price of $90, which is even more expensive than some US-based kratom wholesalers.
Their capsules on the other hand are slightly more expensive, with the kilo costing $150 on sale, or $250 regular price. They offer a sample pack that contains four strains that total two kilos. For the wholesale buyer, they offer a 20 kilogram bundle for the price of $1000. All orders also get free shipping, regardless of how much you’re buying.
The brand offers an introductory discount offer for buyers who key in their email address and subscribe to their mailing list. On the downside however, the brand isn’t too big on discounts, and a lot of their newsletters aren’t quite as pleasant to read through since the information obviously isn’t written by an English-speaker.
The general consensus on ZONA Kratom is pretty mixed, so you’re not likely to get too much of a solid picture as to the quality of their products and the caliber of their services by reading just a few reviews. For one thing, many buyers don’t have too many complaints about the powder per se, claiming that it’s relatively more potent than other kratom products they’ve tried.
The downside is really the brand’s questionable legitimacy. ZONA doesn’t offer lab analysis results for any of their strains, they’re not an approved vendor under the ILK, they’re not GMP compliant, and they don’t disclose any information about their whereabouts or who’s running the show. All of that considered, it’s easy to see why lots of buyers tend to steer clear of the brand.
That’s another issue with the ZONA Kratom company. They don’t have a 24/7 customer support team. In fact, there’s really no way to tell what hours their support representatives are available, if they even exist at all. The brand lets you contact them through only a Gmail address, which can severely limit your chances of getting a prompt response, if at all.
While there’s nothing wrong with their product based on reviews from forums like Reddit, the sheer lack of information to cement their legitimacy takes a toll on the confidence that buyers feel when making a purchase. ZONA Kratom lacks a lot of documentation, so if you’re worried about buying product that’s not up to code, you might want to consider shopping elsewhere.
What’s more, their prices aren’t exactly what you would call competitive, with many US-based vendors offering quality, legitimate, and tested kratom products for less. Nonetheless, if you want to try stuff that comes straight from Indonesia, then their line-up might be worth a try.
