Red Vietnam is a red vein kratom strain originating from the Mekong region in southern Vietnam. The area’s unique tropical climate contributed to the formation of this strain’s unique alkaloid profile. This red strain typically features a mid-spectrum to concentrated profile, offering a faster aroma than what is average within the red vein category.
As a red variety, Red Vietnam typically contains properties inherent to the category, however its overall profile often leans slightly faster when compared to others within the group.
The Vietnam strain has three leaf vein colors – red, green, and white. The vein color of the leaves is determined by leaf maturity time, and a slightly differing alkaloid profile and aroma.
Red Vietnam kratom’s aroma tends to fall on the slower side when compared to the other two Vietnam varieties. White typically contains the fastest aroma, while Green Vietnam is usually the most balanced out of the three vein color types.
The differences in alkaloid profile are due to the timing of the harvest as well as the drying method used. Red leaves are harvested the latest and partially sun-dried, whereas white and green leaves are harvested earlier and dried indoors.
