The Island of Sumatra is the largest in Indonesia and home to a diverse tropical ecosystem. Native to the Island is the Sumatra strain, which developed within the Island’s volcanic, hot, humid, and rainy climate.

Red Sumatra is the red-veined variety of the Sumatra strain. It differs from it’s green and white-vein counterparts in its harvesting time, with leaves picked the latest of the three varieties. The red variety of the strain features a subtle red hue on the veins and stems of its’ leaves, which is an indication of leaf age and underlying alkaloid composition. In comparison to the green and white-veined varieties of the strain, red leaves are partially sun-dried, whereas green and white leaves are typically dried indoors, having an additional impact on the profile.

The red variety of the Sumatra strain typically contains a milder aroma when compared to concentrated slow varieties like Bali, Elephant and Kapuas and faster red varieties like Maeng Da, Thai and Horn. Rather, the variety generally finds a middle ground between the fast and slow red varieties.

What is the Dosage for Red Sumatra?

Our Red Sumatra kratom powder is made with Mitragyna speciosa leaf without the addition of fillers or additives. The same premium kratom powder is used to make our capsules, which are encased in a size #0 gelatin casing and contain 650mg of kratom powder each.
